Today’s Memory Verse:

And indeed, as your life was valued much this day in my eyes, so let my life be valued much in the eyes of the LORD, and let Him deliver me out of all tribulation

I Samuel 26:24

Today’s Bible Study:

Value life!

Why David didn’t permit Abishai to strike and kill King Saul? vv.9-10; 23-24

1. No one could destroy the LORD’s anointed and remain guiltless

2. The LORD would strike Saul, or he will die naturally or in a battle

3. Saul’s life was valued much in the sight of David

Thus David didn’t permit Abishai to strike and kill King Saul

How can we be righteous in the sight of the LORD that He would deliver us from all tribulations?

Let’s

1. Have Christ in our lives, receiving His righteousness in us

Be content!

Daily Ponder, Practice and Pass On God’s Word

Today’s Memory Verse:

And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content

I Timothy 6:8

Today’s Bible Study:

Be content!

A. From whom should we withdraw and why?

We should withdraw our self from false teachers, because they are non-complying to wholesome teachings of Jesus Christ or godly doctrines; but they are proud, ignorant, obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, causing strife, reviling, having evil suspicions, useless wranglings and they think godliness as a means of gain

B. Why should we be content with what we have?

1. We didn’t bring anything to this world, thus we can’t carry anything out

2. Those who desire to be rich, fall into temptation and snare, into many foolish and harmful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition

3. The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, causing some to stray from faith, being greedy, piercing themselves with sorrows

C. What is the greatest gain?

Eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord

Action:

How can we have the greatest gain?

Let’s have godliness with contentment which is great gain

1. Be godly, by obeying Jesus’ teachings

2. Be content with what we have (stop being greedy)

3. Be ready to give, willing to share, thus being rich in good works, storing for eternity

Read I Timothy 6; Proverbs 19:17; Matthew 6:19-20; Luke 6:38; Hebrews 13:5
